Last night I was able to see the Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, for the first time. She came down to Austin’s Book People for her book tour, and she spoke about experiences that we knitters have with non-knitters as well as educated us that our knitting makes us (well, most of us, at least) smart. I’m so glad to have been a part of the event, and I can’t wait until she visits us again. And since I’m not great with words, here are some photos:
And I got to hang out with some knitting buddies, too!
L to R: Stacy, Steven and Julia
and Christina.
I have a few more photos on flickr if you’d like to see more!

Great pictures Steph!
Wow — you take the most awesome pictures. I’m going to put a follow-up on my blog’s post pointing to your set at Flickr, if you don’t mind. Most excellent!
YAY!!!
I also really like Abbe’s sock yarn.
excellent pix – thanks for a great evening!
Stephanie is coming to our neck of the woods in a week! Yes, I said one week! The countdown has begun. We can hardly contain our enthusiasm. She’ll be teaching and speaking in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Yes, it is in the middle of the prairies WAY up here past your US borders, but it is THE place to be for it is home to the Haus of Stitches Stitching Conference.
Glad you had a great time!
